Avoid the dentist (Patent-Pending)

As a mom, there aren’t too many things that make you feel worse than when your kid walks out of the dentist with a cavity.

In our case…our son Riser had FIVE at the age of just four years old.

Five cavities!

Now, it would be one thing if we weren’t brushing his teeth and flossing.

But, we were.

My uncle is a dentist so I’ve always known about the importance of taking care of your oral health.

(Like the fact that poor oral health has been linked to gum disease, heart disease, pre-diabetes, respiratory ailments and even Alzheimers.)

We were still in disbelief that our four year old had multiple cavities.

After all, we almost never missed a brushing. Sugar was almost non existent in his his diet. No soda, no sweets, and we were the ones brushing every time.

It forced us to ask:

What really caused the decay? Was it really sugar like we thought? (spoiler alert, it’s not). What could we do to prevent it?

So down the rabbit hole we went.

Research. Questions. Recommendations from friends. Podcasts hosted by top dentists across the country.

That’s when we got introduced to a dentist who made us question everything we knew about this subject.

According to him and the dentists in his circle, “cavities are caused by acidic bacteria in the mouth, not sugar itself. To prevent cavities, it is important to maintain a neutral pH in the mouth…

WHAT?? We had never heard this before. Not sugar?

In the past we had spent a lot of money on tooth powders and toothpastes that promise great results and the “clean” floss without teflon and PFAS (side note: flossing is still important too!).

So what did this dentist recommend?

Elementa Silver toothpaste and mouthwash.

Elementa: It’s our newest favorite health hack.

They claimed their system is a revolutionary approach to what causes cavities and what can prevent them.

According to the founders, it turns out that “cavities are caused by acidic bacteria in the mouth, not sugar itself. To prevent cavities, it is important to maintain a neutral pH in the mouth…”

And that their “Nano Silver technology is designed to keep your mouth healthy and clean by cleaning deeper than traditional products to kill bacteria and bad breath.”

(See their full story here)

So we decided to put their claims to the test and diligently use this system for the last 9 months.

Changing nothing but implementing Elementa mouth wash & toothpaste…

We found out it’s a toothpaste that the kids love and a mouthwash that they won’t go a night without.

But did it really work?

A few weeks ago the kids had their semi-annual dentist appointment.

We held our breathe to hear the results:

A perfect bill of clean dental health for both kids!

Long story short, we are officially believers.

Riser and Haven recommend the “Bubble Gum” flavor toothpaste and mouthwash for any kid who is particular about taste : )

They also have the adult versions for those of us who hate cavities too.

If you have any questions or thoughts, feel free to reply to this email!

We have tried SO many different brands and are so glad we found Elementa. Also, if you want access to the same videos we saw, the Dentist provides a lot of free content and information on Instagram.

I can share his IG handle, just message me!

Until next time, own what matters : )
